St. John's Archcathedral, Gothic cathedral in Old Town, Warsaw, Poland

The red brick cathedral features twin towers, pointed arches, and ribbed vaults representing the Masovian Gothic architectural style of northern Poland.

The cathedral, constructed in 1390, underwent multiple transformations from a wooden church to a cathedral in 1798 and gained archbishopric status in 1818.

The cathedral contains crypts holding remains of Polish rulers, writers, and religious figures, including King Stanisław August Poniatowski and Henryk Sienkiewicz.

Visitors can access the cathedral crypts from Monday through Saturday between 10:00 and 17:00, with reduced hours on Sunday from 15:00 to 17:00.

The external wall displays fragments of a Borgward IV tank, while a 17th-century bell on Kanonia Street carries local traditions of wish fulfillment.
