Sigismund's Column, Monument at Castle Square, Warsaw, Poland

The 22-meter tall granite and bronze column features a standing figure of King Sigismund III Vasa holding a cross and sword.

The monument, first constructed in 1644 by King Wladyslaw IV, underwent multiple reconstructions, with the current structure reinstalled in 1949 after World War II damage.

The column represents the dual role of King Sigismund III as both religious and military leader, marking Warsaw's status as the capital city.

The monument stands in front of the Royal Castle, accessible via the Ratusz Arsenal metro station or tram lines stopping at Castle Square.

Four bronze eagles adorn the base of the column, while the original damaged fragments remain displayed near the Royal Castle walls.
