The theater building features Neoclassical architecture with red brick walls and houses 1600 seats at Świdnicka Street number 35 in central Wrocław.
Architect Carl Ferdinand Langhans designed this opera house, which opened in 1841 as Oper Breslau and underwent reconstructions after fires in 1865 and 1871.
The Lower Silesian Opera started its Polish performances in 1945 with Stanisław Moniuszko's Halka, marking a new era for this cultural institution.
The ticket office operates Monday through Saturday from noon until 7 PM with a short afternoon break, and Sundays from 11 AM to 5 PM.
The opera organizes performances in unconventional locations, including a 2003 production of Gioconda on the Oder River that drew 30,000 spectators.
