Priozersky District, Municipal district in Leningrad Oblast, Russia
The district spans 3,597 square kilometers along Lake Ladoga, featuring hilly terrain covered by coniferous forests and numerous lakes throughout the region.
Following centuries of territorial changes between Russia and Sweden, the district was established in 1940 and underwent significant population shifts after the Winter War.
The district includes 64 federal cultural heritage monuments and 70 local historical sites, including the medieval Korela Fortress and Konevsky Monastery.
The Saint Petersburg-Hiitola railroad connects the district to major cities, with regular passenger service from Saint Petersburg's Finland Station through Sosnovo and Priozersk.
The district's economy combines granite extraction, timber production, and trout farming, with Lake Ladoga, Europe's largest lake, influencing local industries.
