The brick church exhibits Elizabethan Baroque architecture with distinctive features including two octagonal tiers and a bell tower topped by a spire.
The church, built in 1762 by architect Pietro Antonio Trezzini, stands on the site of a 16th-century fortified settlement known as Klimentovsky Gorodok.
Saint Clement's Church represents the strong connection between Russian Orthodox traditions and the veneration of early Christian martyrs from the Roman period.
The church opens daily for religious services, maintains a Sunday school for children, and organizes educational programs about Orthodox Christianity.
The building survived the 1812 fire of Moscow and maintained its original architectural elements through centuries of historical changes.
