Vinga lighthouse

The lighthouse, constructed from reinforced concrete and porphyrite, reaches a height of 29 meters and features a gray metallic lantern dome with a square balcony.

Built in 1889, this structure represents the third lighthouse on Vinga island, replacing earlier towers from 1841 and 1854 that guided maritime navigation.

The Swedish poet Evert Taube grew up on Vinga island during the early years of the lighthouse, connecting this maritime structure to Swedish literary heritage.

The lighthouse produces white light flashing twice every 30 seconds, providing visibility up to 25 nautical miles for ships navigating the Kattegat region.

A red pyramid day beacon from 1857 stands next to the lighthouse, forming a distinct pair of navigational structures on the westernmost point of Sweden.
