Wat Phra Sing, Buddhist temple in Phra Sing, Thailand
Wat Phra Singh features a main hall with northern Thai architecture, complemented by traditional gilded panels and intricate wooden carvings on exterior walls.
The temple complex originated in 1345 when King Phayu constructed it to house the revered Phra Singh Buddha image from Chiang Rai province.
The temple maintains a traditional library containing ancient Buddhist manuscripts written on palm leaves and stored in decorated wooden chests.
The temple opens daily from sunrise to sunset, with an entrance fee of 20 baht, and visitors must wear clothing that covers shoulders and knees.
The temple incorporates distinctive Lanna-style architecture with multiple-tiered roofs and serpent finials that reflect northern Thai craftsmanship at its peak.
