Woolworth Building, Skyscraper in New York City

The Woolworth Building, at 233 Broadway, Manhattan, New York City, designed by architect Cass Gilbert and completed in 1913, is an early US skyscraper.

Once the tallest building in the world, its height is 792 feet (241 m).

Nicknamed the 'Cathedral of Commerce', the building was funded by Frank Woolworth and has a Gothic style architecture.

The top thirty floors, formerly used as office spaces, have been converted into luxury apartments.

The ornate, cruciform lobby, is one of the most spectacular of the early 20th century in New York City.
