Angel Falls, Waterfall in Venezuela

Angel Falls is the world's highest uninterrupted waterfall, with a height of 979 meters and a plunge of 807 meters.

The falls are named after Jimmy Angel, a US aviator, who was the first to fly over the falls in mid-20th century.

In the indigenous Pemon language, Angel Falls is called 'Kerepakupai Vená', meaning 'waterfall of the deepest place'.

The best time to visit Angel Falls is during the rainy season, from June to December, when the water flow is at its peak.

The falls drop over the edge of the Auyán-tepui mountain in the Canaima National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
