Lunde bridge, Stone arch bridge in Etnedal, Norway

The Lunde Bridge extends 130 meters across the Etna River with three connected spans and features dry set masonry construction techniques throughout its structure.

The construction of Lunde Bridge took place between December 1827 and December 1829, with Christoffer Berg leading the building project as the main contractor.

The bridge appears on the coat of arms of Etnedal Municipality, representing the engineering achievements and architectural heritage of the Norwegian region.

The structure carries Norwegian County Road 251 and maintains a longest span of 21.2 meters, connecting communities on both sides of the Etna River.

This bridge stands as one of Northern Europe's largest dry stone arch bridges, incorporating construction methods that demonstrate Norwegian engineering expertise.
