Emmaboda Municipality, Municipality in Kalmar County, Sweden

Emmaboda Municipality covers the former parishes of Algutsboda, Långasjö and Vissefjärda in Kalmar County. Its terrain is forested moraine with large boulders and rock formations, cut by the Lyckebyån valley. More than 100 lakes are larger than one hectare, and the Antamåla rör block field lies south of Vissefjärda.

The area developed from a small settlement called Gantesbo into a transport hub when Emmaboda railway station was established in 1874. The arrival of the railway brought growth and new opportunities to the region.

The Glass Factory museum displays Sweden's largest glass collection and reflects the heritage of former glassworks that shaped the region for generations. Visitors can experience how central glass production was to the area's identity and daily life.

The municipality sits at a central point roughly equidistant from three major cities, making it a good base for exploring the surrounding region. Visitors can easily move in multiple directions while experiencing the forested landscape.

Vilhelm Moberg, born in 1898 on a farm northwest of Emmaboda, set his Emigrants novels partly in Duvemåla, a village in the municipality; a memorial stone has stood at his birthplace since 1970, with a small author museum nearby.
