Falkenberg Bridge, Stone bridge in Falkenberg, Sweden
The Falkenberg Bridge spans the Ätran river with five stone arches, each displaying precise engineering techniques from the 18th century construction period.
Architect Carl Hårleman drew the initial plans in 1756, followed by Carl Cronstedt who modified the design to include five arches instead of four.
The structure received protected status in 1984, recognizing its role in connecting communities and facilitating trade across the Ätran river for centuries.
The bridge serves approximately 3,800 vehicles daily and remains an essential transportation link in Falkenberg's road network.
A toll house next to the bridge included a pub and housed the Falkenbergs Tidning press until its demolition in 1933.
