Doem Bang Nang Buat, Administrative district in Suphan Buri Province, Thailand.
Doem Bang Nang Buat is a rural administrative district in Suphan Buri Province, central Thailand, made up of several sub-districts and villages. The Mae Nam Tha Chin river runs through the area, shaping the land into rice fields and orchards fed by its waters.
The district was created in 1911 as part of a nationwide administrative reform under Prince Damrong Rajanubhab, which reorganized the provincial structures of Siam. The boundaries drawn at that time have remained largely unchanged since then.
The name of the district refers to an ordained woman from ancient times, and this connection is still felt in local life today. Buddhist temples are scattered across the area and serve as the main gathering points for villagers.
The district office sits in Tambon Khao Phra along the Chai-Nat-Suphan Buri road and is the best starting point for official information. Because the area is rural and spread out, having your own vehicle makes it much easier to move between villages and reach Bueng Chawak.
Bueng Chawak, a freshwater lake within the district, is recognized as a wetland of international importance and hosts many migratory birds during seasonal passages. It is one of the few inland wetlands in the region that regularly draws birdwatchers from outside Thailand.
