Kreischberg, Ski resort in St. Georgen am Kreischberg, Austria.
Kreischberg is a ski resort and mountain located in St. Georgen am Kreischberg, in the Styrian Alps of Austria. It offers slopes for beginners and experienced skiers alike, along with a snowpark for freestyle disciplines.
The resort was developed in the second half of the 20th century as a winter sports destination for the Styrian region. Since then, the lift infrastructure has been upgraded several times to improve access across the mountain.
Kreischberg is known as a family-friendly mountain where parents and children ski together on slopes of different difficulty levels. The area draws many returning visitors each season, which gives it a relaxed and familiar feel rather than that of a large resort.
The ski season typically runs from December to April, when snow conditions are most reliable on the mountain. Getting there early in the day means shorter waits at the lifts and better snow on the runs.
The snowpark sits at around 1,900 meters and is regularly used by professional freestyle athletes for training sessions. Visitors skiing past can watch these athletes practice their jumps and tricks on the same features open to the public.
