Stiftskirche Admont, Gothic Revival parish church in Admont, Austria.
Stiftskirche Admont is a three-nave basilica with a choir built in Gothic Revival style, featuring two prominent towers. These tall structures create the church's distinctive outline and are visible from a distance.
A major fire in 1865 destroyed the original church, after which architect Wilhelm Bücher rebuilt it in Gothic Revival style. The consecration took place in September 1869.
The church holds fifteen carved medallions showing rosary mysteries created by sculptor Josef Stammel. These works survived the fire and continue to shape the interior experience.
A pipe organ with 53 registers installed in 1974 is used regularly during services and musical performances. Check ahead to find out when concerts or special events are scheduled.
The north side of the church displays waterspouts carved as caricatures of Emperor Wilhelm I and Otto von Bismarck. This playful detail gives the architecture a personal and historical touch.
