Pernegg monastery

The stone monastery complex features a church with pointed arches, ribbed vaults, and a five-sided choir termination in the late Gothic architectural style.

Dating from the 12th century, the monastery housed Premonstratensian nuns until 1585, when Augustinian Canons took residence in the religious complex.

The collegiate church contains ceiling paintings from 1603, an octagonal pulpit from 1618, and features rich stucco work in the Eucharistic chapel.

The monastery, located at Pernegg 1, now functions as a center for recreation with hotel facilities and regular concert performances.

The hall church design without supporting pillars creates exceptional acoustics, making it a preferred venue for musical performances across different genres.
