Pragstein is a four-story rectangular castle built on a rocky island in the Danube River, featuring strong corner stones and an arched frieze beneath its hipped roof. The structure includes event spaces and houses a civil registry office within its walls.
The castle was built between 1491 and 1494 under Ladislaus Prager with permission from Emperor Frederick III of the Habsburg dynasty. This construction period represented a key moment in strengthening the Danube region's defenses.
