Schloss Rabensburg, Medieval castle in Rabensburg, Austria
The fortified structure features two towers, with one containing a late Gothic spiral staircase and Renaissance arches spanning three levels in the inner courtyard.
Originally constructed as a wooden fort in 1045, the castle was rebuilt in stone around 1200 and underwent major modifications under Georg Hartmann von Liechtenstein in 1540.
The castle served as the administrative center for 25 surrounding villages during the 15th century, marking its influence on regional development and governance.
Located at Schloss 1 in Rabensburg, the castle maintains protected monument status and stands near the borders of Austria and the Czech Republic.
After 1848, the castle housed a parquet flooring factory, which resulted in the removal of numerous frescoes and architectural elements from the structure.
