Schloss Friedberg

The castle began around 1000 when the Counts of Andechs built its first structures as part of their regional power base. The Fieger family later took over and reshaped it in Gothic style, creating the appearance it has today.

The castle operates as a hotel today, so you can book rooms and use facilities like parking and front desk services. Day visits are possible if you check with the hotel first, since most areas are reserved for overnight guests.

The property serves as a filming location for television productions, including the Austrian series Der Bergdoktor, which uses its medieval architecture as a backdrop. Its dramatic location and historic appearance make it popular with filmmakers.
