Monaster Leszczyński, Orthodox monastery in Pinsk, Belarus.
Monaster Leszczyński is an Orthodox monastery in Pinsk that consists of several stone structures arranged around a central space. The complex features a three-tier bell tower built in 1817 and the Cathedral of the Assumption topped with two Baroque towers.
The monastery was founded in 1263 and initially stood as a wooden structure. In 1510, it was completely rebuilt with stone buildings and defensive walls.
The monastery's name comes from the Leszczynski family, who had deep ties to the place. The Cathedral of the Assumption inside still shows the Baroque style that reflected this noble connection.
The monastery follows regular prayer times and religious services throughout the week. Guided tours can be arranged through the Pinsk Diocese office, which helps visitors understand the site better.
The Cathedral of the Assumption here holds the title of minor basilica, one of only three churches in Belarus with this distinction. This status sets it apart within the country's Orthodox heritage.
