The Royal Crypt of the Monastery of El Escorial is a burial place for Spanish monarchs.
Built between 1563 and 1584, it houses the remains of most of the Spanish kings from Charles I to Alfonso XIII.
It's considered one of the finest examples of Renaissance architecture in Spain.
The crypt is open to the public and can be visited as part of a tour of the monastery.
The crypt contains 26 marble sepulchers, each containing the remains of a Spanish monarch.
