Fundació Joan Miró, Art museum in Montjuïc, Spain
The white concrete building on Montjuïc hill contains more than 14,000 pieces including paintings, sculptures, and drawings by Joan Miró and other artists.
The foundation opened its doors on June 10, 1975, in a modernist building designed by architect Josep Lluís Sert to showcase Miró's collection.
The Espai 13 gallery within the foundation provides exhibition space for emerging artists to present experimental works throughout the year.
The foundation offers guided tours in multiple languages, educational programs for children, and maintains full accessibility for visitors with reduced mobility.
Mercury Fountain, created by Alexander Calder, features actual mercury flowing under protective glass, making it one of few such installations worldwide.
