The 36 Quai des Orfèvres is a celebrated and historic building on the right bank of the Seine in Paris.
From 1913 to 2017, it was the headquarters of the Paris Judicial Police and an emblem of the French criminal justice system.
It has been featured in numerous books and films, notably the Maigret detective novels by Georges Simenon.
Today, it's no longer a police station but still attracts many tourists due to its historical significance.
Its name 'Quai des Orfèvres' is often used synonymously with the Paris police force.
