Villa Savoye, Modernist villa in France
Villa Savoye is a modernist villa in Poissy, on the outskirts of Paris, France.
Designed by Swiss architects Le Corbusier and his cousin, Pierre Jeanneret, it was built between 1928 and 1931 using reinforced concrete.
A manifesto of Le Corbusier's 'five points' of new architecture, the villa is representative of the foundations of modern architecture.
Since 1965, it has been listed as a historic monument and opened to the public in July 1997.
The Villa Savoye is considered by many to be the seminal work of the Swiss architect Le Corbusier.
