The Notre Dame Cathedral rises 76.6 meters high with two prominent towers flanking the western facade and contains an 11th-century crypt beneath its structure.
The cathedral was consecrated on July 14, 1077, during a ceremony attended by William the Conqueror and his wife Matilda of Flanders.
The cathedral initially housed the famous Bayeux Tapestry, which depicts the Norman Conquest of England through detailed embroidered scenes.
The cathedral remains open for religious services and offers guided tours that include access to the chapter house and treasure room.
The architectural design combines Norman-Romanesque elements in its lower sections with Gothic features in its upper levels and vaulted ceiling.
