Château de La Motte-Tilly

The Château de La Motte-Tilly stands on the left bank of the Seine River, featuring furnished rooms that display aristocratic lifestyles from different periods.

Built in 1755 by architect François-Nicolas Lancret, the castle replaced an older structure from 1369 that contained a moat still visible in the current grounds.

The castle maintains a collection of lime trees that received recognition from the Conservatoire des Collections Végétales Spécialisées for botanical preservation efforts.

Entry costs 9 euros, with free admission for visitors under 26 years old, and guided tours operate throughout the year with seasonal scheduling variations.

A 2.5-hectare restored vegetable garden supplies produce for the estate's needs, continuing a tradition of self-sufficiency from the 18th century.
