Château de La Motte-Tilly

Château de La Motte-Tilly is an 18th-century castle standing on the left bank of the Seine, featuring furnished rooms that display aristocratic lifestyles from different periods. The building was designed in 1755 by architect François-Nicolas Lancret and replaced an older structure from 1369, whose moat remains visible in the grounds today. This continuity of use at the same location shows how important this place was to successive generations.

The castle maintains a notable collection of linden trees recognized by the Conservatoire des Collections Végétales Spécialisées for botanical heritage. These specimens shape the appearance of the grounds and show how landscape design was part of aristocratic identity.
