Abri Castanet, prehistoric rock shelter in France
The Abri Castanet is an archaeological site known for its prehistoric cave art.
This site dates back to approximately 35,000 years ago during the Aurignacian period of prehistory.
Abri Castanet's wall carvings and engravings are significant records of early human symbolic behavior.
Located in Sergeac, it was declared a monument historique classé in France.
It is one of the oldest known sites containing Upper Paleolithic art.
