It was commissioned by Esther Lachmann, a famous courtesan known as La Païva.
The mansion is an example of Second Empire architecture and is adorned with lavish decorations.
Today, it serves as a private club for architects and engineers.
It's said that the mansion's yellow marble staircase was inspired by the one in the Vatican.
