Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary, Wildlife sanctuary in India
Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary is a beautiful, quiet and wild Himalayan destination with rich natural surroundings.
Established in 1988 for the conservation and protection of the shrinking broad leaf oak (Quercus) forests of the Central Himalayan region.
The sanctuary is home to many high altitude species of animals and birds, including leopards, black bears, monkeys, foxes, flying squirrels and over 200 species of birds.
The sanctuary is open throughout the year, but the best time to visit is from October to November.
It offers a panoramic view of the 300 km stretch of the Himalayas.
