Schloss Seefeld, Baroque castle in Seefeld-Kadolz, Austria.

Schloss Seefeld is a Baroque castle set on a small hill with three floors arranged around a rectangular courtyard. Its main facade has eleven bays and features a distinctive clock on the southern side.

The Kuenring family owned the castle from 1292 to 1594 and it served as a venue for important political meetings among European royalty. During this period it developed into a notable gathering place for nobility and high officials.

The chapel inside holds ceiling frescoes from the Maulbertsch school, showing religious art from the 18th century Austrian Baroque period. These painted works are still visible when visitors get the chance to see the interior during special occasions.

The castle is private property of the Hardegg family and visitors may view it from the outside, though access to the grounds is limited to special events. Those interested in seeing the interior or grounds should check in advance about upcoming occasions.

Two sandstone figures representing the ancient gods Chronos and Hermes sit above the large clock on the southern facade. These sculptural details seem to stand as timeless guardians over the hours passing at the castle.
