Parish and pilgrimage church Maria Ellend

The Maria Ellend parish church rises from its location on Wienerstraße, featuring a prominent portal facade adorned with the Mother of God mosaic.

Franz Josef Gabriel of Abensperg and Traun directed the construction of the current church structure between 1770 and 1772, replacing an earlier chapel from 1466.

The church grounds include the Stations of the Cross, Rosary Way, Maria Lourdes Grotto, and Calvary shrine with multiple chapels for religious observances.

Located at Wienerstraße 10, the church maintains regular services and welcomes visitors to explore its 4-hectare forested park with multiple prayer stations.

Since 1929, the site houses the only Austrian branch of Holy Family missionaries, featuring an exhibition about their international missionary activities.
