Seekapelle, Protected chapel near Lake Constance in Bregenz, Austria.
The Seekapelle features a simple nave structure with a recessed choir, rounded at the diagonal sides, and incorporates Renaissance architectural elements.
The chapel was established in 1445 by the city of Bregenz to commemorate the victory in the Battle of Bregenz on January 13, 1408.
The central shrine contains a crucifix group with the Mother of Sorrows, accompanied by statues of Saint John the Baptist and John the Evangelist.
The chapel belongs to the St. Gallus parish in Bregenz and remains open for visitors interested in religious architecture and local history.
The bells of Seekapelle, tuned to C and E-flat, date from two distinct periods: 1618 and 1954.
