Salginatobel Bridge, Arch bridge in Schiers, Switzerland.

The Salginatobel Bridge spans 132 meters across a deep gorge, connecting the village of Schiers with the mountain hamlet of Schuders.

Robert Maillart designed this concrete bridge in 1928, and construction workers completed the structure in 1930 using hand-mixed concrete materials.

The American Society of Civil Engineers designated the bridge as an International Historic Civil Engineering Landmark in 1991, joining structures like the Eiffel Tower.

The single-lane road bridge stands 90 meters above the Salgina stream, supporting loads of 350 kilograms per square meter through its reinforced concrete structure.

British engineering magazine Bridge Design & Engineering named this structure the most beautiful bridge of the 20th century, ahead of the Golden Gate Bridge.
