Wenfeng Pagoda
Welcome to the city of Xuchang, located in Henan province, China. One of the must-visit attractions in this city is the Wenhua Tower, also known as the Wenming Tower or Wenhua Temple Tower. This tower is situated on the Wenhua Hill and was built during the Ming Dynasty by Zheng Zhengguang, the governor of Xuzhou, in the year 1614. The Wenhua Tower is a magnificent structure that stands at a height of 52 meters and has 13 floors. It is made up of four parts - the base, the tower base, the tower body, and the tower spire. The tower has an octagonal shape and is considered one of the most beautiful and well-structured brick towers of the Ming Dynasty in Henan province. It is also known as the "Number One Fengshui Tower in China" due to its unique location and design. In May 2006, the Wenhua Tower was listed as one of the national key cultural relics protection units by the State Council of China. In front of the tower, there are three stone tablets that contain inscriptions from different periods. These include the "Wenming Tower Fu" written in the forty-third year of the Ming Dynasty, the "Record of the Reconstruction of the Wenhua Temple Tower" written in the fifty-eighth year of the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty, and the "Inscription of the Reconstruction of the Shijia Buddha Hall and Aotou Guanyin Hall of the Wenhua Temple" written in the fourteenth year of the Jiaqing reign of the Qing Dynasty. Currently, the Wenhua Tower is located in the eastern courtyard of the Xuchang Museum and is considered one of the top ten scenic spots in Xuchang. However, in recent years, the tower has been showing signs of accelerated tilting. If you are interested in history and architecture, the Wenhua Tower is definitely worth a visit. You can admire the tower's exquisite design and learn about its rich cultural heritage. Don't forget to take some photos of this magnificent structure and enjoy the beautiful scenery around it.
