Dresden Suspension Railway, Suspension railway in Loschwitz, Germany.

The Dresden Suspension Railway spans 274 meters between Loschwitz and Oberloschwitz districts, ascending 84 meters above the Elbe River through 33 support pillars.

Engineer Eugen Langen designed this transportation system in 1901, establishing it as the first suspended funicular railway operating with a cable-driven mechanism.

The railway stands as a technical monument in Saxony, representing early 20th-century German engineering achievements in public transportation development.

Two cars transport 40 passengers each at 2.5 meters per second, connecting through an electric-assisted cable system that uses counterweight principles.

The upper station features an observation platform where visitors can examine the mechanical room and view the technical components of the railway system.
