The Gothic basilica features tall walls, pointed arches, and ribbed vaults, following the architectural principles of French cathedral design with simplified elements.
Founded in 1135 by Count Heinrich II of Graisbach-Lechsgmünd, the current structure was built between 1352 and 1387 to replace the original Romanesque church.
The interior displays baroque paintings of apostles, a stone Madonna sculpture from 1350, and numerous carved tombstones representing different artistic periods.
Located at Hauptstr. 42 in Kaisheim, the church maintains regular religious services and can be contacted at 09099 318 for visiting arrangements.
The church houses a Matthias Tretzscher organ from 1677 with 23 registers across two manuals and pedal, remodeled in 1792.
