Altlacher Hoch-Kopf, Mountain summit in Bavarian Alps, Germany.

The Altlacher Hochkopf rises to 1328 meters within the Bavarian Pre-Alps, featuring mixed forests and numerous hiking trails near Lake Walchensee.

In 1850, Maximilian II of Bavaria constructed a hunting lodge beneath the summit, which later became a retreat for King Ludwig II.

Richard Wagner composed sections of his opera Siegfried at the mountain lodge, marking the location's connection to German classical music.

The mountain trail begins at the southern shore of Walchensee, requiring a 1.5-hour ascent through marked paths covering 580 meters of elevation.

The Hochkopfhütte, built around 1850, remains exclusively accessible to German Alpine Club members and stands at 1299 meters elevation.
