Neuburg in Battenberg

The Neuburg building stands in the center of Battenberg, featuring architectural elements characteristic of 18th-century German hunting lodges.

Chief Forest Master Karl Johann Philipp Löner von Laurenburg constructed this hunting lodge in 1732 for Landgrave Ludwig VIII's hunting expeditions.

The structure evolved from a hunting lodge to serve multiple administrative functions, including as a forestry office and district court until 1970.

Located at Hauptstraße 583 in Battenberg, the building currently functions as the town hall and administrative center for local government operations.

The grounds contain a Baroque garden, and the location provides clear views toward the neighboring municipality of Allendorf.
