Odsherred Municipality is an administrative area in northwestern Zealand covering sandy beaches, rolling terrain, and farmland between Sjællands Odde and Lammefjord. The region contains ten urban centers, with Nykøbing Sjælland serving as the main town where most services and shops are located.
The area became a single municipality in 2007 after three smaller towns merged into one administrative unit. This change combined the governance of Dragsholm, Nykøbing-Rørvig, and Trundholm under a unified administration.
The Solvognen, a Bronze Age sculpture of horses pulling a sun wagon, reflects the artistic traditions that developed in this area thousands of years ago. This bronze and gold work shows how people once understood their relationship with the sun and nature.
