Langeland Bridge, Road bridge in Langeland Municipality, Denmark
Langeland Bridge is a road structure spanning 774 meters between the Danish islands of Langeland and Siø. It carries two lanes for vehicles alongside separate paths for bicycles and pedestrians across the water.
The bridge was completed in November 1962 as a key advancement in Denmark's post-war infrastructure development. It linked two previously isolated islands and made travel and commerce between them much simpler.
The bridge design by architect Anker Engelund demonstrates Danish engineering expertise through its structural elements and practical transportation solutions.
You can cross the bridge by car, bicycle, or on foot, with each type of traffic having its own route. Parking is available nearby, and the location is easy to reach on the main road.
The bridge features a central span of 91 meters between its supports, creating an engineering configuration that allows seamless travel between Langeland and neighboring Danish territories.
