Lightvessel Gedser Rev, Museum ship in Port of Helsingør, Denmark.
The Lightvessel Gedser Rev displays maritime equipment, navigation instruments, and living quarters used by crew members during its operational period.
Built in 1895 at N.F. Hansen's shipyard in Odense, this vessel served as the seventeenth Danish lightship, initially stationed at Lappegrund in Øresund.
The vessel earned recognition on Danish currency when the National Bank featured it on the reverse of a 20 krone coin in 2009.
Visitors can access the museum ship during summer months from June through August, with guided tours available on Saturdays between 11:00 and 15:00.
During the Cold War, this lightvessel rescued over 50 East German citizens attempting maritime escapes, including a person using a submersible scooter.
