Folkets park, Public park in Nørrebro, Denmark
Folkets Park extends between Griffenfeldsgade and Stengade streets, featuring diverse tree species including oak, birch, ash, maple, and cherry trees.
The park emerged in 1971 when residents transformed an empty construction site by collecting trees, plants, stones, and bricks from nearby areas.
The space hosts numerous outdoor events throughout the year, including music performances, circus shows, pet exhibitions, and community cooking gatherings.
Visitors can walk on grass areas, let dogs run without leashes, and organize activities like campfires within designated park zones.
Local residents successfully protected the park from multiple development plans, maintaining its status as a community-driven green space since its creation.
