Frederikssund Vikingespil, Historical theater group in Frederikssund, Denmark
The theater troupe performs outdoor Viking-themed plays at Vikingepladsen, featuring actors in period costumes presenting ancient Norse stories and battles.
The theater company began its performances in 1952 under the direction of Per Buckhøj, establishing a tradition of Viking historical reenactments in Frederikssund.
Through performances and demonstrations, the troupe presents traditional Viking weaponry, crafts, music, and daily life activities from the medieval Norse period.
Performances occur from June 21st to July 14th at 20:00 on weekdays and Saturdays, with Sunday shows at 16:00, offering seating for 1100 spectators.
The venue includes Valhal Torv gathering space and specialized areas like Bopladsen and Runestenen that display authentic Viking settlement features.
