Pøt Mølle, Historical watermill in Favrskov Municipality, Denmark
Pøt Mølle is a watermill located along the Sværup Mølleå stream, featuring wooden structures and traditional mechanical systems for grinding grain. The building has been adapted and now serves partly as holiday accommodation while preserving its original characteristics.
Mills have operated at this location since 1571, though the current building was constructed in 1825. Following a fire in 1831, the structure was rebuilt and has continued to function since then.
The mill serves as a community gathering place, especially during seasonal celebrations when locals and visitors experience traditional crafts and mill operations firsthand. These occasions reveal how the building maintains its role as a hub for sharing heritage practices.
The mill is situated near Bundsbæk Nature Park, which offers marked walking trails around the structure. Parts of the building are accessible for viewing the exterior architecture and the surrounding stream environment.
The mill received a cultural heritage award in 2020 following extensive restoration work that carefully balanced historical preservation with new uses. This recognition highlighted its importance as a restored landmark in the region.
