Fisheries and Maritime Museum

The Fisheries and Maritime Museum contains indoor exhibitions, a saltwater aquarium with native species, and outdoor areas displaying traditional fishing vessels and equipment.

Founded in 1968 after journalist Hakon Mielche's 1941 proposal, the museum expanded in 1999 with a five-story building adding 2,000 square meters of exhibition space.

The museum preserves the Claus Sørensen E.1 fishing cutter from 1931, which participates in educational trips around Esbjerg port and Wadden Sea.

Located at Tarphagevej 2, four kilometers northwest of central Esbjerg, the museum operates daily from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM with extended hours during summer.

The museum features a sealarium where visitors can observe grey seals, Denmark's largest predator, during scheduled feeding demonstrations throughout the day.
