Valley of the Kings is a time-worn valley in Egypt where, for a period of nearly 500 years from the 16th to 11th century BC, tombs were constructed for the pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom.

Famed as the burial site of Tutankhamun, it contains at least 63 tombs and chambers of various rulers of ancient Egypt.

The cultural significance of this site spans centuries, preserving carvings, inscriptions, and stylized painting indicative of ancient Egyptian traditions and beliefs.

Located near Luxor, it is a crucial part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the Theban Necropolis.

Apart from being an archaeological site, this valley carries immense historical importance becoming one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world.
