Valley of Cuelgamuros
Valley of Cuelgamuros, Monument in Spain
Valle de los Caídos is a Catholic basilica and a monumental memorial in the municipality of San Lorenzo de El Escorial, northwest of Madrid.
Constructed between 1940 and 1959, it was conceived by Spanish dictator Francisco Franco to honor those who died during the Spanish Civil War.
The site remains controversial for its association with Franco, symbolizing the triumph of his dictatorship.
It is open to the public, offering guided tours and access to the basilica and crypt.
