Botanical Garden of Santa Catalina

The Santa Catalina Botanical Garden spans 3.25 hectares, featuring plant collections from five continents arranged along specific routes through Mediterranean and Atlantic climate zones.

The site originated from a 13th-century tower house built by the Iruña family, later transformed into a monastery that suffered damage during the First Carlist War.

The garden integrates historical architecture with botanical collections, displaying over 1,200 plant species while preserving the remains of the Santa Catalina convent.

Three parking areas serve visitors, with the largest lot accommodating 100 vehicles at 1300 meters from the entrance, requiring a 45-minute walk to the ticket office.

The garden includes specialized zones such as a butterfly oasis, a wishing tree, a Starlight observation area, and a permanent exhibition of bonsai specimens.
