Fort Boyard, Fortification in France.
Fort Boyard is a fort located between the Île-d'Aix and the Île d'Oléron in the Pertuis d'Antioche straits, on the west coast of France.
Built from 1801 to 1857, Fort Boyard was initially designed to protect the coast from possible British invasions.
The fort is now used as a set for the French television series 'Les Clés de Fort Boyard'.
It is not open to the public, but can be seen from nearby shores or during boat tours.
Fort Boyard is sometimes called the 'Stone Ship' due to its elongated shape.
